I heart Bac-Out!

No, I’m not a paid spokesperson for any of the products on this blog, but I will rave about the things I love!

Biokleen’s Bac-Out is my new favorite and I would be happy to pass along my glowing review to anyone!

What can you use Bac-Out for?

Spot cleaning food stains on clothes, rugs, etc.

Potty training a child or pet? Works GREAT on rugs. I soak up any pee I can with a dry cloth, spray a few squirts of Bac-Out on the spot, and forget about it. No need for stinky carpet cleaners or coming back in five minutes to scrub. AWESOME!!!

This same technique works on vomit, although you need to make sure you scrub a little more thouroughly with the Bac-Out to remove any small particles.

If your garbage disposal starts smelling a little funky, pour some Bac-Out down the drain and let sit overnight.

I didn’t use it on my cloth diapers, (I hadn’t discovered the wonder of Bac-Out yet!) but I found a post on a blog about it.

However, now that my two year old is in underwear and often doesn’t quite make it in time to the potty, we spray down his underpants with Bac-Out and leave them in the laundry room until I’m ready to do a load of laundry.

What is in Bac-Out? Bac-Out’s ingredients are natural enzyme-producing cultures, food-grade lime extracts and stabilizers, vegetable-based surfactants, and filtered water. No phosphates, chlorine, ammonia, petroleum solvents, alcohol, butyl, glycol ether, SLS or SLES, EDTA, DEA, SARA title III, CA 65 or EPA priority pollutants.

Bac-Out is concentrated, so when I buy a bottle, I pour half in an old applesauce jar and fill the rest of the spray bottle with water and have at it!

I’ve heard great things about Bac-Out too! I’m currently on the hunt for a more natural laundry soap (soap nuts didn’t work for me), because my skin is so sensitive. Do you have any to recommend?

I have been on a search for a good natural laundry saop and have come up short. But, with Bac Out, if I pretreat my stains, then the actual brand of detergent becomes less important. I also have started adding washing soda (you can get it at Wal-mart in the detergent aisle) to my loads because it is a natural laundry “booster.” This combo seems to do a pretty good job. It is more steps, but I have yet to find an all-in-one natural soap or detergent that does the job. If you find a good one let me know!

I found this site via some googling, and it’s crammed full of great info on laundry detergents. I’m going to pick up a package of Planet brand, because of her recommendation at the bottom of that enormous chart. I figure if it’s gentle enough for cloth diapers (and effective enough), then my sensitive skin can probably handle it :) Fingers crossed!

Awesome! Thanks! Let me know how it goes, and you are always welcomed to write a guest post about it if you’d like ! :)

Oh, that’d be fun! Give me a few months to try out the new stuff and determine whether my skin is going to freak out (I just started rewashing all of my clothes and linens because the Trader Joe’s detergent did a number on me). I’ll report back whenever I find a keeper :)
