Make Your Own Swimmer’s Ear Drops

As a swim instructor and former competitive swimmer, I know how horrible “swimmer’s ear” can be. My dad used to make a concoction and put some drops in each ear after swimming.  We couldn’t recall exactly what his concoction was, but I saw this recipe online written by a pediatrician. See the post and reviews here.

1 part vinegar

1 part alcohol

Put a few drops of the homemade swimmer’s ear drops in each ear as a PREVENTATIVE measure. Do not put in an ear with an active infection or it will cause more pain and burning!

I have had an ear infection for 6 months now, and it`s been quite a battle. One of the things the doc has me doing is half vinegar and half water twice a day in the ear with an ear syringe. Then I use my prescription cream. This infection started out as a regular infection and then changed to a yeast infection in the ear. I think the vinegar helps keep the yeast from growing. I can`t wait till it`s gone!
