fabricate

I stumbled upon a Cincinnati gem this week. There is a little shop in Northside just off Spring Grove Ave. on Hamilton Ave. called fabricate. This really cool shop is part art gallery, part boutique selling homemade, high quality goods. It’s like walking into someone’s etsy shop! For all the crafters and lovers of homemade goods, it is a super fun place to hang out!

The store features items by local Cincinnati artists as well as outside the area. Items include stationary, paintings, jewelry, handmade soaps, decorations, clothing, and much more. All of the items are handmade and many upcycled. You really have to come in and take a look.

I had the opportunity to speak with Chris Salley Davis, co-owner of fabricate (along with Aileen McGrath), and I could tell she is passionate about the store and the featured artists. She also was kind enough to allow me to snap her photo (without knowing I was coming in).

Chris informed me of second Saturdays, which is an art event featuring the work of a new artist on the second Saturday of each month. Other Northside businesses are getting involved and staying open late this same night as well. This month on December 10th, 2011 from 6-10pm the art of Emily Moorhead will be featured at fabricate.

Fabricate is located at 4037 Hamilton Ave. Cincinnati, OH 45223

Regular business hours are Wed-Sat 12-6 and Sunday 12-5. Go check it out and tell us your favorite find in the comments section.
