Make Your Own Electrolyte Drink

Instead of reaching for a bottle of Gatorade, why not try this two ingredient electrolyte beverage? All you need is a half of a lemon and some sea salt. Squeeze the juice of the lemon in a large drinking glass, add 1/2-1 teaspoons of sea salt (NOT TABLE SALT) and fill the glass with about 12 ounces of water. Stir and enjoy.

On these super-hot days here in Ohio, (over 100 for the past few days) spending any length of time outdoors has left me feeling beat and dehydrated. After drinking this beverage, however, I felt much better! The sea salt has necessary minerals that table salt lacks, so do not skimp on the salt. I use Celtic Sea Salt, and it really does work!

Interesting. I’ll see how it quenches my thirst after a day of gardening in the summer sun. Thanks for the cool idea and the fun experiment.

Wow, What a super idea to make your own and not have to buy Gatorade or Powerade, which I can’t stand the flavors of. Thanks so much for linking up to Creative Thursday this week. I can’t wait to see what you link up next. Have a great weekend.

This is great! You can also try combining coconut water + sea salt + the juice of 1 lemon + a little raw honey. Bonus points if you add some grated fresh ginger!!!! (I stole this from the Thrive Diet by Brendan Brazier) :)
