Random Acts of Kindness-Week 1

Sometimes, as a stay-at-home mom, I feel I don’t get the opportunity to reach as many people face to face during the week as those who go to work. This week, my son was sick and home with me, and I literally did not venture more than 1 mile from my house, and most days I didn’t make it out of my jammies.

I thought, “Well, I guess I won’t get to do my $10 this week.”  But I realized that there was probably someone I could bless, and didn’t give up. Then, as I was scrolling through my Facebook timeline, I saw a post for a Christian couple who feels called to adopt. They need to come up with an insane amount of money for the adoption fees in just 15 days, but felt that if God was calling them to do this, He would also provide the money. The mom put out a post on her blog, and asked others to share it, and see if through the generosity of others, they could reach their goal.

How much was she asking for? Just $10… I knew right there I had found my RAK for the week. It is amazing how God will use you right where you are if you are willing and expectant. I quickly clicked on the link, read her story and checked through her blog and referenced her friends to make sure it was legit. In less than two minutes I had contributed my $10 via paypal.

***Update*** I was pleasantly surprised that I received a thank you note from my donation. It read:

Thank you SO much for your donation to our adoption!  I am completely overwhelmed and so thankful….words would never be enough!  May the Lord be glorified in our story and through your obedience.
